BotFence Configuration: Exceptions

Since BotFence is quite powerful it can easily lock you out of your own server if you mistype a password or misconfigure your remote access software accidentally. We included these options so you can exclude some IP addresses and/or account names from causing the IP to be blocked even if it has repeated failed logins.

Parameters on this page:

• Users: Add users here that always get their passwords wrong and need 19 tries to log in. That is if you don't want their IP addresses banned for that.
• IP-Addresses: You can configure ranges of IP-Addresses that are never banned. This is important! You definitely should define at least one range of IPs here (some other server of yours maybe) to allow emergency access to your server in case your own IP gets blocked.
